How Infinite Travel Hub Was Born: From Wing-It Girls Trips to Family Adventures Around the World

My love of travel really kicked off when I was about 20 and went on my first girls’ trip to Thailand. We’d never been overseas before – the closest thing we did growing up was heading to Queensland.

This was about 16 years ago, back when there were nowhere near as many options for booking travel online. No TikTok, Instagram wasn’t what it is now, and “online booking” was still a bit wild west.

So what did I do?

I winged it.

I found this random Thai travel website (that doesn’t even exist anymore), trusted my gut and booked all of our accommodation and transfers through it. No travel agent, no safety net, just vibes and a bit of blind faith.

Somehow…it all worked out. We had an amazing time, nothing major went wrong, and I got completely hooked – not just on the holiday, but on the planning.

After that came Malaysia – another girls’ trip, another chance for me to organise flights, hotels and what we were doing each day. From then on, if there was a trip happening, I was planning it.

I officially became that friend:

  • The one with the spreadsheets

  • The one comparing 10 different hotels

  • The one everyone messaged: “Where should we stay in…?

My first big Europe trip (and why I was glad I used a travel agent)

A little while later I visited Europe with my then boyfriend (who’s now my husband 💍).

This time, I didn’t plan it on my own – I used a travel agent. And honestly, I’m so thankful I did. It was a big trip, I didn’t really know how Europe “worked” yet – how to navigate different countries, train routes, flights, all of it. Having someone help with the logistics gave me the confidence to actually enjoy it without constantly worrying if we’d messed something up.

That trip gave me two perspectives:

  • The thrill of planning and exploring

  • The relief of having an expert guide you when it’s all a bit overwhelming

Both of those experiences ended up shaping how I work now.

Hawaii hens, Boracay honeymoon & the “it’s not just flights” realisation

After Europe, the trips kept coming.

I went to Hawaii for a hens party, which was a group effort booking-wise, and then to the Philippines for my honeymoon – including Boracay, which was an absolute dream.

The Philippines trip I booked myself again. And this is where I really realised that travel isn’t as simple as “book a flight and you’re there”.

There were road transfers, boat transfers, and multiple moving parts to get us from A to B. Remember – this was still back when TikTok wasn’t a thing and information wasn’t as easy to find in a 30-second video. You had to dig, research, and really understand how things connected.

But I loved it.The more layered the trip was, the more I enjoyed piecing it together.

Europe again, then babies, then… Bali with the whole family

In 2017 we headed back to Europe and visited Budapest, Berlin, Malta, Greece, Zurich and Mt Titlis (still makes me laugh every time I say it 🙈).

Not long after we got home, I fell pregnant, and travel naturally slowed down for a couple of years.

In 2019 we did a Bali trip with my extended family – a proper multi-generational holiday. And again, everyone just kind of turned to me and went, “You’ll book it, right?”

So I did. Flights, accommodation, transfers – the lot. And I realised I wasn’t just “good at booking my own trips” anymore; I was planning for different ages, needs, budgets and personalities all at once.

Then came 2020 and… well, cough COVID cough. Like everyone else, we stayed put and honestly thought we wouldn’t be able to travel for a long time. It was depressing.

Travel has always been such a huge part of how I feel happy and alive, so the idea of “no more travel” felt really heavy.

In 2021, I had my second baby girl, and then in 2023 we headed back to Thailand – another multi-generational trip, and again, I booked it all.

This trip was completely different to my 20-year-old wing-it Thailand days. I was:

  • Travelling with kids

  • Breastfeeding my youngest

  • She was a clingy little monkey who wouldn’t let me out of her sight

It was beautiful and chaotic at the same time – and it really cemented just how different family travel feels compared to those first carefree girls’ trips.

The moment I realised: I don’t want to stay in corporate

Somewhere in between spreadsheets at my corporate job, breastfeeding, late-night research and planning everyone’s holidays, it clicked:

“I love this. I love travelling, I love organising, I love the research. Why am I not doing this properly?”

I didn’t just want to book my own trips and help friends on the side anymore. I wanted to make it my actual job. I wanted to help other families feel the way travel makes me feel – happy, free and alive – without the stress and overwhelm that usually comes with planning it.

So I decided to go all in.

I:

  • Completed my Certificate III in Travel & Tourism

  • Became an independent travel agent

  • And started my own business: Infinite Travel Hub

And honestly? I’m loving every moment of it.

Europe with two kids in tow – and a new way of seeing travel

In 2024, after watching way too many YouTube videos of Greece, we looked at each other and said:

“Let’s go to Europe next year.”

So we did. With two kids in tow.

It was one of those trips that reminds you exactly why you do what you do. Yes, it’s more work with kids. Yes, it’s tiring. But the memories, the experiences, the little moments – you can’t put a price on those.

It also reminded us that:

  • Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed

  • The “we’ll do it one day” trips need to start becoming “we’re doing it”

  • We want to see more of the world together as a family, not just talk about it

And that’s really the heart behind Infinite Travel Hub.

What Infinite Travel Hub is really about

Infinite Travel Hub is my way of taking everything I’ve learnt over:

  • Wing-it trips

  • DIY bookings

  • Working with a travel agent

  • Group holidays

  • Honeymoons

  • Multi-generational trips

  • Travelling with babies and kids

…and turning it into something that actually helps other people.

It’s for:

  • Busy families who don’t have time (or the brain space) to research everything

  • Couples who want a realistic luxury-for-less holiday

  • People who want bang for their buck without feeling like they’ve cheaped out

  • Anyone who wants someone in their corner who’s actually done these trips in real life

I don’t just throw packages at you and hope something sticks. I:

  • Listen to what you’re dreaming of

  • Work within your budget

  • Help you choose destinations and areas that make sense

  • Look at flights, routes, resorts, transfers, deals and cruises

  • Put it together in a way that flows for real life with kids, jobs and energy levels and I’m there before, during and after your trip – not just until your final payment clears.

Why I’m sharing this

I’m not just “a travel agent”. I’m someone who has:

  • Winged random travel websites in my 20s

  • Used travel agents and seen the value

  • Planned multi-gen trips where everyone relied on me

  • Done long-haul with kids

  • Sat in a corporate job daydreaming about planning itineraries instead of reports

Infinite Travel Hub is what happens when you finally say:

“I don’t just want to dream about travel, I want to live it and help other people live it too.”

If you’re sitting there thinking:

“We really need a holiday…”

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Because life is short, kids grow fast, and the “one day” trips deserve a spot in your calendar.
